Lukas Rechsteiner

Born in 1988 in Münsterlingen, Switzerland, Lukas Rechsteiner obtained his first drum lesson at the age of 10. Within various projects with youth wind orchestras and brass bands he made his way as a percussionist to the Swiss Army Band.

Bachelor studies in Lucerne from 2009-2012 led his way towards classical music and percussive arts. He finished master studies in

performance and pedagogy at Zürcher Hochschule der Künste from 2012-2017.

Working as a teacher for percussion and as freelance percussionist in several orchestras, Lukas Rechsteiner is also a sought percussionist for chamber music projects and drummer

for bands.

He’s a founding member of the Cosmic Percussion Ensemble (percussion chamber music), the SlideSticks Trio (interdisciplinary chamber music) and the rock band Archie Slap.
